The Final Clean a Plano Build Actually Needs

Plano has very little raw land left, so construction here is mostly reinvention. A 1990s house near Willow Bend gets its kitchen taken back to the studs and finished in current materials. A ranch east of US-75 is gutted entirely and comes back as an open plan. A downtown building is carved into lofts. In every case somebody has to make the result habitable after the trades leave.

Drywall dust is what makes that hard. It is finer than household dust, it is faintly alkaline, and it goes everywhere air goes: into cabinet boxes, along the top edges of doors, down inside window channels, into the pleats of a return-air filter, into carpet nap. Dry dusting it just lifts it into the air to land again somewhere else an hour later.

Which is why the work is done wet and done more than once. Surfaces are wiped damp so the dust is carried off rather than redistributed, and the whole space is worked top down, then rested, then worked again once the air has dropped whatever was still floating. A single pass on a remodel always looks finished on the day and disappointing on the second morning.

The rest is the detail nobody schedules. Adhesive labels on new glass and appliances, grout haze clouding fresh tile, paint flecks and caulk on hardware and hinges, sawdust in the corners of a new closet, and the fingerprints every trade leaves across a freshly painted door frame.

We come in once the trades are genuinely finished and hand back a space that is ready to be lived in rather than merely complete. If the project ran to a whole house rather than one room, plan on more than a day and let us look at it first so the estimate matches what is actually there.

When Plano Projects Need a Final Clean

1After a Kitchen Comes Back Together

New cabinet boxes hold dust in every corner and fresh tile carries a haze. Both want handling before a single dish goes into a drawer.

2A Ranch Taken Down to the Studs

A full renovation east of US-75 leaves dust in rooms the crew never opened. The clean has to cover the whole house, not the work zone.

3Finishing a Loft Build-Out

Exposed ceilings and ductwork in a downtown conversion collect construction grit that keeps drifting down until somebody removes it.

4A Primary Bath or Closet Addition

Small projects still spread dust across a whole floor. One focused visit resets the rooms the work bled into.

5Before the Furniture Comes Back

Everything you moved out for the project comes back once. It should come back into a clean room rather than onto settled dust.

Why Plano Books Post-Construction Cleaning With Us

Damp Removal, Not Dry Dusting

Construction dust is carried away on a wet cloth. Pushing it around with a dry one simply puts it back in the air and onto the next surface.

More Than One Pass

We work top down, let the air settle, then go again. That second pass is the difference between looking clean and staying clean.

Labels, Haze and Overspray

Sticker adhesive on new glass, grout haze on fresh tile and paint flecks on hardware come off carefully, without scratching what is underneath.

New Finishes Treated as New

Fresh grout, new stone and just-painted trim are more fragile than they look. Product and pressure are matched to what was actually installed.

“Our kitchen remodel finished and dust had reached bedrooms at the far end of the house. They cleaned the entire floor, not just the kitchen, and came back the next morning for a second pass.”

“Fresh tile in the primary bath had a haze across it and I was convinced it was the finish. It came off completely. They also cleared every label off the new glass.”

“They told us to change the HVAC filter after they left and explained exactly why. No cleaner had ever mentioned it. That advice was worth as much as the clean.”

Post-Construction Cleaning in Plano: Common Questions

Post-construction cleaning generally runs $180 - $800+. A single remodeled bathroom in an East Plano ranch sits at the low end, while a whole-house renovation or a new two-story build in West Plano with several baths reaches the upper figure.

A one-room project is often a single day. A gut renovation or a new build usually needs two days or a large team, because the second pass after the air settles is part of the job rather than an extra.

We handle fine dust, sawdust, packaging, labels and small offcuts. Lumber, cabinetry, drywall sheets and anything requiring a dumpster stay with the contractor.

After the last trade is finished, including touch-up paint and final punch items. If a painter returns after we do, the dust and fingerprints come back with them.

Usually, yes, with a treatment matched to the tile and the grout used. Very old haze that has been sitting since installation is harder and sometimes needs a second treatment.

After a proper multi-pass clean, effectively yes. Replace the HVAC filter afterward as well, since a filter loaded during construction keeps releasing dust back into the house.
